Super Replay – God Hand Episode 13: Cherry!

Click here to watch embedded media After a festive holiday season, Game Informer's annual 12.31 Super Replay usually brings suffering. In years past, this day has kicked off complete playthroughs of stinkers like Overblood , Overblood 2 , Blue Stinger , Illbleed , Raw Danger, Martian Gothic: Unification , Sonic the Hedgehog , and Vampire Hunter D . Figuring out which game will be honored with this spot is a stressful decision that usually takes a full year to figure out. That wasn't the case this year. The community figured it out for us. We had the somewhat official I Watched the Entire Overblood Super Replay group vote for a Super Replay earlier this year. With hundreds of votes cast, the poll ended in a tie between Killer 7 and God Hand. Rather than just flipping a coin to see which one we would do, I decided to record both of them. We knocked out Killer 7 earlier this year, and almost rolled right into God Hand, but couldn't find a window to get it done in a produc

Wacky Local Co-Op Adventures In Heave Ho

Heave Ho is pure silliness in the form of a local co-op experience. At PAX East 2019, I had the chance to check out the experience of little avatars attempting to squiggle their way to victory, a sort of party game that's designed for plenty of interaction between players.  While the controls are simple, the experience of moving your character to the finish line with the other players can be anything but. Using your hands, you've got to grip, jump, and slide your way around dangerous maps. If you're feeling really bold you can try to collect bonus coins to unlock cosmetics, which can also be unlocked by playing or participating in random mini-games that pop up from time to time. Click here to watch embedded media Hand over hand, things can go wrong in a hurry, leading you to fall to your doom or crash up against deadly spikes. Sega Announces Multiple Games For The 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Click here to watch embedded media Sega has announced four separate games to coincide with the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, though three of them are versions of the one we already know: Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. In a trailer mixes footage of the four games with a quasi-inspirational montage of old Olympic footage, we see the four games in action. First, there's Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game, which looks to be a more traditional collection of games based on Olympic sports. This one has regular people compete in the games instead of iconic, disproportionate mascots. This one is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC sometime in 2020. From there, things get a bit funky. There's of course a new version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games coming this winter, but this one is Switch exclusive. Sega Brings Back Sakura Wars Series On PS4

Click here to watch embedded media Publisher: SEGA Release: Spring 2020 Platform: PlayStation 4 Sega has announced the return of the long-dormant Sakura Wars series with a new entry on PlayStation 4 set to release next year. Project Sakura Wars (working title, of course) is set in a "romanticized version of 1940s Imperial Tokyo," 10 years after the end of Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love (which released in the US back in 2010 on the PlayStation 2 and Wii). As with the rest of the series, Sakura Wars is a mix of action and adventure, with the return of the LIPS dialogue system, which makes dialogue options (which affect your trust with certain characters, as well as the potential ending of the game) more active affairs. It also has you fighting inside mechs called "spiricle armors," which leans into that "romanticized" version of Tokyo, I suppose. The game will feature only Japanese voice acting, but will have subtitles English, German French, and S

KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR - Episode 12 - I Can't Hear the Fireworks, Part 2 / Kaguya Doesn't Want to Avoid Him

After being forced to bail out on seeing fireworks with her fellow student council members, Kaguya shuts herself up in her dark bedroom. Hayasaka, Kaguya's maid, is worried about her mistress's depressive state. She tries to cheer Kaguya up, and when that doesn't work, introduces a plan to sneak out of the family mansion. Kaguya manages to slip past a pair of vigilant butlers and reaches the venue, but the fireworks display is already over. Kaguya is in tears, since she really wanted to see the fireworks with the others, but then she hears a familiar voice: "Then, I'll show them to you." source http://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/kaguya-sama-love-is-war/episode-12-i-cant-hear-the-fireworks-part-2-kaguya-doesnt-want-to-avoid-him-782602

What To Watch This Weekend - PAX East, League of Legends, And Street Fighter V

This weekend brings us another PAX, more League of Legends, and some pretty neat events in Asia. The Northern California Regionals are a major event in many fighting game communities, so you can catch hotly contested events for Street Fighter V , Tekken 7 , Dragon Ball FighterZ , Windjammers , and more. ( Streams and Schedule ) The League of Legends LCS is getting serious, as we move out of the best-of-one group stage and move into the best-of-five playoffs. This means there are only two matches this weekend (one today and one tomorrow), but the stakes are higher. ( Stream  /  Schedule ) PAX East is this weekend, bringing with it a ton of panels, at least some of which you'll probably be interested in. ( Streams / Schedule ) Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is having a major event in Tokyo this weekend, so if you have your timezone differences worked out, you can watch some of the action with Japanese commentary. If you can't watch on Japan hours, the VODs are always there fo

Replay – From Software's Otogi Series

Click here to watch embedded media From Software is known predominantly for the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne , and the recent Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , but back in 2003, before Hidetaka Miyazaki had joined the developer, it released a pair of action games exclusively for the Xbox called Otogi: Myth of Demons and Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors. The two games share some overlap with From's latest game, Sekiro, in that they're third-person action games starring protagonists who exist between life and death and they take place in heightened versions of Japanese history. Weekend Warrior – Sekiro Continues To Kick Our Butts

The Division 2 and Sekiro are  hot  right now at the Game Informer office. Some of us are still in The Division 2's early hours, while others are grinding for gear in the endgame. Our office masochists, meanwhile, are tackling the unforgiving Sekiro, learning that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And also a thousand deaths. And maybe swearing. Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Review – A Bland But Serviceable Fighter

Publisher: nWay Developer: nWay Release: April 2019 Rating: Teen Reviewed on: Switch Also on: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC The history of Power Rangers games is sordid. Despite the franchise’s popularity over the last 26 years, no single release has risen above the typical licensed-game standard of mediocrity – and few even attain that level. Battle for the Grid has a few things going for it, like some decent animation and visuals for its characters, but the package as a whole is every bit as underwhelming as the Power Ranger titles that have come before it. The best part is watching the characters fight. They all move well and have unique animations and specials, and I enjoyed learning each one’s best-case uses. Many of the Rangers feel similar, but Goldar and the two long-range fighters (Ranger Slayer and Mastadon Sentry) feel different, and provide at least some creativity in building your three-person teams. Final Fantasy XV Deserves More Credit

With the launch of the Episode Ardyn DLC this week, Final Fantasy XV finally reached the last stop of its long road trip . The game originally released in November 2016 (read our review ), and over the last two-plus years, it received a variety of new features, events, and content. That kind of prolonged attention is something we expect from service games like Overwatch and Fortnite – not from single-player JRPGs. These improvements made a great game even better over time, and I don’t think Final Fantasy XV gets enough credit for everything it ultimately accomplished. Final Fantasy XV was my favorite game of 2016 , but I know it isn’t perfect, and it doesn’t align with what many fans love about Final Fantasy’s glory days on SNES and PlayStation. It has real-time combat, a bizarre mix of linear and open-world structures, and only four main characters. But that’s also the brilliance of it; Square Enix took risks with Final Fantasy XV, and the experience is better for its willingness t
