Anthem's Loot System Is Receiving A Major Overhaul

One of the most promising takeaways from Anthem so far is BioWare listening to the community and making changes based on that feedback. This may not sound like a huge element of the game, but if BioWare can implement fixes and alterations quickly, it could be a huge difference maker. It worked for Warframe, but we'll have to wait to see just how much BioWare is able to iterate on key components on the game. The latest update to Anthem focuses entirely on the loot drops. Either today or tomorrow, BioWare is releasing a number of changes that will help players receive Masterwork items faster. In a Reddit post last night, BioWare's lead producer Ben Irving outlined exactly what is changing, and also highlighted what they heard from the community. He said that players thought that most inscriptions are not useful, and that too many Masterworks must be acquired before a "good one" is obtained. Additionally, he said that players either want the frequency of Masterworks d

Let’s Talk About Far Cry New Dawn’s Fantastic Plot Twist

Warning : Spoilers ahead for both Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. Far Cry 5 was a game with a lot of ideas. How could a gang of armed cultists take control in small-town America? What would a first-person shooter in that setting play like? What if the bad guy wasn’t just morally complicated but, in the end, was right, with the end of the world raining down nuclear fire on everyone? These ideas are interesting. Too bad Far Cry 5 handled those ideas with the grace of a tipsy goose. Joseph Seed’s Manbunny version of David Koresh is far more annoying than intriguing, and the game zig-zagged from any deep thematic storytelling its cult-ish premise presented at nearly every opportunity. Far Cry 5 could have been an engaging and disturbing take on modern America. That it settled for so less still bums me out a year later . But let’s not belabor the point, yeah? I only want to talk about Far Cry 5’s failings to the point that I can discuss something that New Dawn does really well. So the setup of N

Months After Launch, Battlefield V Is Still Playing Catch-Up

During the lead-up to the Battlefield V launch, DICE laid out the many ambitious ways it hoped to evolve the first-person shooter series. The evolution of the fan-favorite Battlefield 1 mode Operations, dubbed Grand Operations, would add a new array of objectives to the playlists to keep the evolving battles fresh. A cooperative mode called Combined Arms would provide an evolving PvE destination. A new “Company” system would give players a greater level of flexibility for tweaking and saving class/vehicle loadouts for any battle scenario. And not one to be left on the sideline while battle royales took over the world, Battlefield V would also have its own unique take on the popular mode, dubbed Firestorm.  When the November 15 release date arrived, only one of these promised features – Grand Operations – was included in its intended state. As crazy as that sounds, it almost didn’t ship with that mode either. Grand Operations only made its way into the Day One feature set after fans b

World War Z Co-Op Shooter Gets A Release Date

Click here to watch embedded media World War Z, the co-op, third-person shooter, is finally getting a release date: April 16. Announced all the way back in December of 2017 , it's been a while since we've heard much about the game's progress, but the impressive  zombie tech behind the large hordes seems to have remained intact from that initial showing. https://twitter.com/wwzthegame/status/1100349958669168641 The game is co-op up to four player, so it seems to be interested in picking up the slack for the seemingly defunct Left 4 Dead series. We'll just have to wait a couple more months to see if it can match those games' staying power when it launches on PS4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store. source https://www.gameinformer.com/2019/02/26/world-war-z-co-op-shooter-gets-a-release-date
